Communicating RDR to your clients April 27th

PanaceaIFA are hosting an event for advisers on May 23rd, ‘You’ve got the exams, changed the business model. Surely something’s missing?’. They have a number of excellent speakers lined up, so we thought we’d share the event with you on our blog.

They are offering the free question time event to advisers who need help with:

  • Communicating forthcoming RDR changes to their clients
  • Providing clarity over the costs of advice pre RDR to counter post RDR objections

The question time will be held at Schroders head offices in London and hosted by Derek Bradley, CEO PanaceaIFA, who will be joined by a panel of industry experts, which will include:

Boodles Transformation

The transformation of an iconic brand March 28th

Last Thursday we attended an event at the stunning Boodles store in the The Savoy Hotel, hosted by Brook-Dobson Brear. We were inspired by Michael Wainwright, Director of the British jewellery store previously known as ‘Boodle and Dunthorne’.

Michael spoke about the transformation of their business and how they have reinvented their brand. We thought it was a great story of the journey of a business, very similar to the transformation our adviser clients have gone through in the lead up to RDR, so we’ve decided to share it with you on our blog. Tips for launching your new value proposition June 2nd

Have you created a client value proposition and now need to launch it within your business? In this post we’ll share ideas for successfully launching your new offering.

When you’ve finalised the content and core messaging for your value proposition, turn it into a ‘storyboard’ to form the basis of all presentations, website copy, brochures and regular communications. It must become the foundation for all marketing and communications.

When developing your value proposition, you must remember that it’s not all about you. It should focus on the needs of your target client. What are their ambitions, goals and objectives? What keeps them awake at night? How do your services address these needs?

Gather this information by asking those clients who meet your ‘ideal’ client profile. Do this in person or use an online survey tool like SurveyMonkey, SurveyGizmo or Smart-Survey. The best way I’ve seen this work is through a client appreciation event. Invite your clients to lunch or another event and openly ask for their feedback. This is a great way to receive honest advice. Your clients will feel privileged you’ve selected them. Once you’ve created your value proposition, show it to them and again, ask for their feedback.

Lights. Camera. Action! May 10th

In May, the creative hub of A Business Innovation was alight with activity (even more than usual that is). The scurrying bodies were hard at work transforming the top floor of our HQ into a film studio. Why? We were producing the thought-provoking video ‘Are you a farmer, or do you eat what you kill?’

The video questions the UK adviser market and invites viewers to gain the necessary tools to transform their business and survive the impact of the Retail Distribution Review.
